Cuteness alert! A Panda breeding center in China’s west has a cause to celebrate: their giant panda, Kelin, has given birth to twin baby girls.
The twins, which are the first set of panda twins born in 2015, were born yesterday in Chengdu, China, after two hours of labour for mama panda.
The twin girls, who were born weighing 118 grams and 70 grams respectively, are a huge boost for the giant pandas’ population, which has been flagging in recent years due to low rates of reproduction in captivity.
They haven’t yet developed their distinctive black and white patches, or their round floppy ears, but don’t worry: they’re still pretty cute.
