A TV viewer has written to Channel 9 to complain about Weekend TODAY presenter Deborah Knight’s “repulsive” baby bump.
A woman called Lynne emailed to see that while she “loved children” and thinks Deborah is “great” she “does not need to look at her pregnant body, especially sideways”.
“If you must have her on… keep her sitting down,” the email continued. “It looks repulsive.”
Lynne said she would be watching a different network until Deborah had given birth.
Deborah – who is now on maternity leave – revealed the email on air yesterday, saying she thought it was funny and that its writer was “possibly jealous”.
“I was quite surprised by that email. I wasn’t offended. I thought it was kind of funny that someone would have that opinion,” she said.
