Vicar reveals wife’s affair in Sunday sermon

He revealed he questioned his faith after his wife left him for a famous UK actor.

A heartbroken vicar has opened up about his wife leaving him for Robson Green, a UK TV star, during a congregation yesterday and said he hopes they’ll “have a good life together”.

Rev Geoffrey Short, 57, has two children with his wife, Zoila, 43.

He told the Sunday Mirror how he’s been struggling to forgive her and the actor.

He spoke in the hour-long service in front of 60 people about his recent troubled times.

“For me over the last few weeks and last few months, there have been some difficult times.”

“I have gained great strength from being able to talk to God but also listening to what he had been saying to me.”

After the service, he said: “Now is the time for us all to get on with our lives.”

“I have drawn from the people at the church a great deal of healing and peace.”

“These people have been absolutely wonderful. I have taken comfort in my faith. I hope Robson Green and Zoila have a good life together.”

He recently revealed that after the betrayal, he was questioning his faith.

Zoila, a Sunday school teacher, met actor Robson at the gym. She’s now now living with him in a luxury flat.

She broke the news of the affair to Rev. Short while they were seated in the kitchen of their vicarage. “I’m leaving you for Robson Green,” she calmly confessed.

“When she told me I felt anger, amazement,” he explained.

“There are questions I’ll probably never get answers to. It’s just total shock, disbelief and sorrow.”

“Of course there is a lot of anger towards Green, but as a Christian I have to forgive. It’s made me question my faith, but I’ve got to stay strong.”

Short is having a hard time dealing with pain when Robson’s profile is so big in the UK.

“The guy’s practically haunting me, taking over my whole life. He’s on Grantchester, ¬Northumberland Tales, it’s horrible.

“I want people to know what’s happened. I’ve got nothing to hide. I don’t feel I’ve driven her away, but it’s not just me who’s been hurt, it’s so many people.”
