Over the years, mothers have drilled into us that we ought to dress to impress on certain occasions – going to church, school dances, meeting our new partner’s parents or the dreaded job interview.
But not many would think to dress up to go to the hospital to meet a new baby!
Iris Kessler tweeted a picture of her brother Grant in a maternity ward waiting to meet their new niece.
Adorably, Grant dressed up in clothes he thought were fitting for the occasion – a suit and tie.
The young man looked incredibly dapper, dressed up to the nines in the suit, complete with a tie clip and pocket square.
Hilariously when Iris asked him why he was in a suit he said it was because – “first impressions matter”.
Well, quite right!
The new uncle promptly became an internet sensation – the photo was retweeted more than 20,000 times in a day. At time of publishing, it’s been retweeted 140,000 times and ‘liked’ 453,000 times.
The only problem was, his baby niece Carter had her eyes shut when they met!
What an adorable reminder for the baby girl when she grows up and finds out what an effort her Uncle Grant made for meeting her.
