UK flights to Egypt delayed after horror plane crash

ISIS has claimed responsibility for the fatal Russian airbus plane crash in Sinai, Egypt, as UK delays all flights through the region.

All flights to the UK from the Egyptian holiday town of Sharm el-Sheikh have been delayed this morning, after authorities said a plane that came down last weekend may have had an ‘explosive device’ on board.

The BBC, quoting Downing Street, said ‘all flights due to leave the holiday resort for Britain this evening are affected, to allow UK experts to assess security’.

A Russian Airbus 321 crashed on Saturday, killing all 224 people on board.

“We would underline that this is a precautionary step and we are working closely with the airlines on this approach,” a Number 10 spokesman said.

The government said the latest advice “may cause concern” for Britons already in the holiday resort and for those planning to travel.

Since the crash, terror group ISIS have come forward to claim responsibility for the attack.

The Sinai-branch released an audio clip just hours after the plane crashed urging to government official to prove that “we did not [cause the crash]”.

“We downed it, so die in your rage,” said the audio clip, which also says that they will reveal how and why they did it “soon”.

Government and security officials are still in the process of investigating the claims.
