Tyrell Cobb’s mother Heidi Strbak has walked free on bail after pleading guilty to manslaughter.
The little boy from the Gold Coast was found unconscious at his Biggera Waters home in May 2009 before he died shortly after in hospital.
He had a total of 53 bruises and 17 abrasions on his body at time of death but Strbak claims she didn’t land the fatal blows.
Strbak was therefore released on bail and will now face a contested sentence next week.
Medical experts will be called to give evidence along with witnesses.
It comes just weeks after her ex-partner Matthew Scown, walked free from prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter. He was given a suspended 4-year sentence but was released immediately due to time already served.
Scown, 34, appeared to be laughing and smiling as he left the Supreme Court.
More as we get it.
