CityRaile have confirmed major delays are expected to continue into the evening tonight across the entire Sydney trains network due to urgent power supply repairs at Central. Officials are advising Sydney city commuters to allow extra travel time, listen to announcements and check indicator boards for the latest information.
A Sydney Trains spokesperson said delays are “ranging from 5 to 30 mins at this stage. We are working hard to get services back on time ASAP. Thank you for your patience so far.”
This time frame has since been increased from 5 to 40 minutes.
The worst delays are said to be on the T2 Inner West and Leppington line, though the T1, T3, T4 and T8 lines are all affected.
The power outage was reported in Central station this morning at 10:45 am, though there has been no word yet as to what caused it.
Anyone travelling to the airport and is in danger of missing their flight is being asked to see a member of station staff and make them aware of their situation.
And we can’t help but agree with these Sydney City Commuters…
