Scared of spiders? Look away now.
Not scared of spiders? You should probably still look away now.
Still with us? Ok, but donโt say we didnโt warn you.
A horrified (and also brave) tourist was wandering through a vineyard in Yarra Valley in Victoria when they saw a plain old plank. Nothing special hereโฆ except for the 11 terrifying, enormous huntsman spiders that will most definitely haunt your dreams tonight.
Instead of fleeing in horror like any sane person would, they took a pic and posted it to social media.

This is the stuff of nightmares.
Huntsman spiders can grow very big โ they can measure up to 15cm across the legs. Despite looking like furry monsters, theyโre not particularly aggressive and can actually be beneficial in your home (they feed on insects). A bite from one of these arachnids wonโt kill you, but youโll still need immediate medical attention. (Read here for how to treat a spider bite.)
Just last month, another pic of a spider (that was roughly the size of all of those combined) made the rounds on social media after being found in Queensland. It was dubbed โAragogโ (the name of Hagridโs giant rogue spider in Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets) by the family that found it.

Aragog.
The woman, named Lauren Ansell, told Daily Mail Australia, โMy partner was on the outside trying to cook our food. We didnโt want to kill it, but it didnโt like us for trying to move it along, Itโs still alive and happy.โ
Thereโs also a video (seen below) of a huntsman trying to eat a mouse. Thanks, Australia.
