Snake season is rife in Australia, and the unwanted guests are being found everywhere, from wineries to school bags.
This week’s remarkable snake sighting saw a venomous tiger snake, presumably thirsty because of Australia’s current sweltering summer heat, proceeded to get its little serpent head stuck in, of all things, a Carlton Draught beer can.
Honestly, you couldn’t make a more ‘Straya story up if you tried.
The story was shared on Stewy the Snake Catcher’s Facebook page. Stewy was the professional that stepped in to cut the snake free after the people realised the potential danger of trying to free the reptile themselves.
“People were trying to cut the snake out themselves, but I quickly told them to stop as the situation was deemed too danferous [sic],” the snake rescuer wrote on his page.
As well as the story, Stewy also shared photos of the incident and a video which can be seen in full above.
In the video, the snake is flails and wriggles around, clearly stressed and scared.
Stewy who is much braver than we will ever be, cuts the can off the snake’s head with a pair of pliers.
“Yeah mate, I know you are in pain. Just relax for a minute,” Stewy
“Stop struggling for a minute. Relax mate, I’m saving you,” continues our new national icon.
The snake will be set free this week after Stewy spent time making sure the reptile was fully recovered from the ordeal.
You’re a true Aussie hero, Stewy.
