The Project brought down on air

When major technical issues plagued The Project last night, the hosts had nothing else to do but act out the news.

Halfway through the hour-long news show The Project last night, Waleed Aly told viewers that things werenโ€™t going exactly to plan.

โ€œGuys, I think youโ€™ll all agree the show has been fantastic so far tonight, just going really swimmingly, itโ€™s been incredible. The secret is, downstairs, the hamsters are having massive technical issues.โ€

Carrie Bickmore blurted out the real truth: โ€œWe have nothing to play to air for the next half an hour of the show.โ€

So after dragging out commercials and a way-too-long long interview with basketballer Lauren Jackson, the hosts had no other choice but to get a little, well, creative.

But with panellists Peter Helliar and Ryan โ€œFitzyโ€ Fitzgerald acting out the news Carrie Bickmore was reading, it was always going to be hilarious.

Hey, their tagline is โ€œNews delivered differentlyโ€ after all.
