These are the victims of the Orlando nightclub shooting and they should not be forgotten.
But sadly, it seems they are at risk of being lost in the white noise of the political debate currently raging in the United States and around the world.
While gun control, immigration and gay rights are important issues, it’s equally critical we don’t forget the ultimate sacrifice made by 49 people who went out looking for fun and ended up losing their lives when Omar Mateen stormed Orlando’s Pulse nightclub with an assault rifle.
What’s more, the death toll seems likely to grow, with another six people in a critical condition in hospital and a further 47 battling less serious injuries.
Here, we name all of the fallen in the hope that their names and faces are never forgotten.
