Tesco forced to apologise after embarrassing typos on baby clothes

And it wasn’t just one mistake, it was two.

Supermarket chain Tesco has faced an embarrassing slip-up with two spelling mistakes on separate items of baby clothing. Both were in the one pack.

The typos were spotted by Ben Kendall on Twitter after he was given a pack of five Tesco long-sleeve bodysuits as a gift for his three-month-old son.

The T-shirts read the slogans “I was born awsome”, missing the first E in the word ‘awesome’, and “Daddys little man”, with no possessive apostrophe.

Tesco quickly went into damage control and responded to Ben’s tweet, saying: “Sorry about this, we’ve made our suppliers aware of this so it can be corrected for future stock.”

Despite being offered a refund or exchange for the product, Ben remained good-natured about the whole thing. He replied back with: “Thanks @Tesco – we’ll just use them as they are. He’s three months old and, despite my best efforts, can’t read yet.”

His wife Sophie Kendall also chimed in, tweeting: “We both work as journalists so are perhaps a bit more pedantic about these things than most.” She added, “We’ll just use the suits and hope nobody notices.”
