A tantric sex therapist has been found shot dead on a hiking trail in California, still holding the leash of his wounded dog.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports that Steve Carter , 67, was shot multiple times, and died on the trail.
His dog was shot once, and may survive.
Police believe the attacker took Mr Carter’s keys and stole his Volkswagen from the car park at the start of the trail.
Carter and his wife, Lokita Carter, founded the Ecstatic Living Institute, which celebrates tantric sex, meditation and yoga, and where clothing is optional.
Mrs Carter has recently been receiving treatment for cancer. The couple were also dealing with the destruction by fire of one of their retreats.
