Syrian child Bana Alabed, who lived in Aleppo, Syria, has been tweeting about daily life in the warn-torn city since September.
Her mother Fatemah created an account in her name and began updates from herself and from the little girl.
The 7-year-old has posted many heartbreaking and sometimes graphic messages and images, including a seemingly dead child.
Her home was destroyed by bombing but medical officials say she’s been evacuated to safety. A picture of Bana appeared on the Syrian American Medical Society’s Twitter feed, saying she had arrived in the countryside
Some Syrian government loyalists claim Bana is been used for ‘propaganda’ and isn’t even in Syria. But she has gained thousands of followers the world over.
Earlier this year Bana received a number of Harry Potter novels directly from author J.K. Rowling after many mentions over Twitter. Rowling even shared a video from Bana to highlight her plight.
