A teenage girl was stabbed in the back during a robbery on a street in Sydney’s west last night reports the SMH.
The 14-year-old girl was walking along Swinson Road in Blacktown with a 15-year-old boy around 8.30pm. The pair were suddenly confronted by a man, who threatened them and demanded the girls backpack.
During a struggle over the bag the girl was stabbed in the back. The offender escaped with the backpack.
The girl was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene, and then taken to The Children’s Hospital in Westmead.
Police say that her injuries are not life-threatening.
The offender was described as being of “Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, with a thick black beard and a large build”.
