A tornado with wind speeds among the fastest ever recorded in Sydney has hit the southern suburb of Kurnell.
The Bureau of Meteorology said the destructive winds measured up to 213 kilometers an hour.
Many photos were shared on social media showing the damage caused by the storm, including a truck that was knocked over in Kurnell.
The SES has received over 160 call outs, with 65 from the Sutherland Shire.
