Nothing can get between Bethany Hamilton and her dreams.
Just six months after having her first child Tobias, Bethany, who lost one of her arms in a shark attack in 2003, surfed one of the biggest waves in Hawaii: the Pe’ahi, also known as “Jaws.”
“I quickly realized, wow this is my chance to have my dreams come true, this is it!” Hamilton wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
“Before towing into these waves, I would just breath deep and focus on what I was going to do. I believed in my ability. As I was dropping in, I would focus on drawing my line and read.”
