We wish we could bring you this news and end it with a ‘Ha! Just kidding’. But alas, this story is true. High heels, or um, “Pee Wee Pumps,” for babies have landed, and we have the photos prove it.
The tiny shoes come in an array of quite faboulous designs. Indeed, they also look mighty uncomfortable.
The company was founded by Michelle Holbrook, a woman who began the company after she struggled to find a pair of “stylish” shoes with “collapsible heels” for her three-year-old daughter.
Now the shoes she sells have names that fill the gap she sees in the market such as ‘Sassy’, ‘Swanky’, ‘Wild Child’ and ‘Pretty in Pink’.
Their website states: “These days, parents are all about style – not just for themselves, but for their little, ones, too!’
“Fashion-forward mums love to dress up their little girls with the cutest bows and outfits, and are always looking for the perfect pair of shoes to complete any outfit. Now they’ve found them with Pee Wee Pumps.”
It’s no secret we love our fashion here at The Weekly, but this product marketing itself as a “babies first fashion statement” has our office divided.
Critics have also described the shoes as “disgusting,” “sexualised,” and downright “inappropriate.”
What do you think of these itsty bitsy heels? Let us know.
