A sex worker has revealed mass murderer Stephen Paddock enjoyed acting out violent rape fantasies and would aggressively rant about conspiracy theories.
The 27-year-old escort said she saw the 64-year-old gun man around nine times from late 2015 to mid-2016 when he visited Las Vegas.
“When I first met Stephen I had left an abusive relationship and was starting all over again with nothing but the clothes I was wearing,” she told The Sun.
“He seemed like he wanted to help. We would go to the casinos together and he would spend hours drinking and gambling.
“But when he would have a winning streak, we would go back and have really aggressive and violent sex.”
The sex worker, who did not want to be named, showed the publication text messages from Paddock talking about tying her up “as you scream for help”.
She also described him as “obsessive” and “paranoid”, disclosing that he would often rant about conspiracy theories, like believing 9/11 was an inside job by the US government.
Paddock, who was a millionaire thanks mainly to gambling, would pay the escort up to $10,000 a time.
When she started a new relationship, she broke off contact with Paddock.
“He had a dark and twisted side. But even so, I could never have imagined he would do something like this,” she said.
Police are still stumped by Paddock’s motive, something which is incredibly unusual five days after a mass shooting.
Authorities have examined Paddock’s politics, finances, his social behaviour and any possible radicalisation.
“We still do not have a clear motive or reason why,” Clark County Undersheriff Kevin McMahill said.
“We have looked at literally everything.”
Paddock had stockpiled 23 guns, a dozen of which were modified to fire continuously like an automatic weapon, and requested an upper-floor room overlooking the festival.
His girlfriend Marilou Danley gave chilling accounts of his mental health, according to two former FBI officials.
“She said he would lie in bed, just moaning and screaming, ‘Oh, my God,'” one of the former officials told NBC.
Another unnamed official said she spoke about her partner displaying “mental health symptoms.”
