The man accused of murdering school teacher Stephanie Scott has been offered a plea deal.
The NSW Supreme Court heard this morning that school cleaner Vincent Stanford was offered a deal some time last week after “ongoing discussions” between the prosecution and his defence team.
It is not known which charges the deal relates to. Stanford has yet to any pleas. His twin brother Marcus Stanford, pleaded guilty to being an accessory after the fact in April this year.
Ms Scott, 26, was last seen in on Easter Sunday in April 2015 at her workplace, Leeton High School, where she had gone to prepare lesson plans for the time she would be away on her honeymoon.
Her body was discovered in some burnt-out scrub in Cocoparra National Park the following Friday, the day before she was due walk down the aisle to marry partner Aaron Leeson-Woolley.
Police claim Stanford sexually assaulted Scott, before killing her and dumping her body.
Stanford has been in Long Bay jail since his arrest 15 months ago and appeared in the court via video link today.
The matter has been adjourned until July 22.
Stanford’s twin Marcus is due to be sentenced later this year.
