Horrific footage has been uncovered of a man repeatedly throwing a three-year-old girl into a swimming pool which led to her drowning and eventual death.
The video, which was captured on a Mexican hotel’s CCTV cameras last week, showed the man, believed to be the little girl’s stepfather, repeatedly and violently throwing the child into the pool over a period of hours whilst the child struggles to swim.
The little girl is seen on the footage flailing her arms and kicking her legs as she struggled to stay afloat.
Later in the footage, posted by Mexican news site Quadratin News, the man is seen forcefully submerging the child over and over again.
In the footage, other hotel guests are seen in the pool alongside the man and the girl, but they fail to intervene on her behalf.
A local paper, Proceso reported that the girls’ mother was asleep in a nearby hotel room and was unaware of the events unfolding with her young daughter.
According to news sites, the mother rushed her child to hospital after she realised she wasn’t breathing but doctors were unable to resuscitate.
Doctors confirmed the little girl’s death just minutes after.
Local have arrested and charged the man responsible with homicide and treason.
He is currently being detained by police and is expected to face trial in the coming months.
