In an all too familiar story mother-of-five Sharon Louise Michelutti was found stabbed in the chest and dead in the bedroom of her home hours before her partner was charged with her murder.
The 48-year-old Riverwood woman’s de facto partner, Gavin Debeyer, 50, was arrested close to the couple’s home in Sydney’s south west shortly after her body was discovered on Feb. 1.
Despite taking out a reported 10 apprehended domestic violence orders dating back to the 90s, Ms Michelutti was killed in her own home just two weeks after an ADVO was issued ordering Mr Debeyer to stay away from her and the couple’s home within 12 hours of drinking or taking drugs.
Neighbours of the couple reportedly said Ms Michelutti had been in a tumultuous relationship with her alleged killer since the age of 14, reports The Sydney Morning Herald.
According to reports one of Ms Michelutti’s adult sons had to be wrestled to the ground by several police officers at the scene.
Upon hearing about the incident he allegedly screamed: “Is she still in there? My dad killed her, didn’t he?”
Mr Debeyer is due on court on murder charges in March.
