Shari Lea Hitchcock was not in Waverley court today to face her assault charges but a lawyer appeared on the socialite’s behalf to ask for an adjournment to gather medical evidence.
Following a boozy lunch in March the former mistress of businessman Richard Pratt is alleged to have assaulted a woman who tried to help her cross a busy road and then bit a police officer who tried to arrest her.
According to a NSW media release the alleged victim, Jan Haswell was driving on Oxford Street, Woollahra when she saw “an intoxicated woman walking in the middle of the road”.
Ms Haswell reportedly tried to help Hitchcock who supposedly tried to assault her before running away.
Court documents show Hitchcock, 46, was charged with common assault, assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.
An adjournment was granted and the mother-of-one is due to appear in court on May 18 and where it is believed she enter a plea.
