A Singapore Airlines plane has caught fire during a dramatic emergency landing at Changi Airport.
Flight SQ368 was two hours into its journey to Milan when it was forced to turn around and return to Changi due to engine problems.
Seconds after the plane touched down, a passenger filmed its right wing bursting into flames as it coasted down the runway.
The passenger told The Straits Times she could smell petrol two hours into the flight but passengers remained calm, even once the engine caught alight.
“The blaze was quite fierce and we waited for around two or three minutes before the fire engines arrived,” she said.
Remarkably, no one was injured in the fire and Singapore Airlines said in a statement that all passengers would be transferred to another aircraft that would depart for Milan later that day.
“Singapore Airlines will be co-operating fully with the authorities in their investigations,” the statement read.
