On Saturday Timothy Lang, 48-year-old father-of-seven, was admitted to hospital after an alleged one-punch attack on a South Brisbane street. On Monday his family turned off Lang’s life support and he died.
On Tuesday police arrested Wayne Hearn, 38, and he was charged with one count of unlawful striking causing death.
Police released video footage on Monday to help them find a man to help them with their enquiries. Police have now said that the recording could be their biggest piece of evidence in the case.
The surveillance video shows the two men crossing paths on the street shortly before Timothy Lang, 48, was allegedly struck with a fatal blow to his head on Saturday morning.
It seems they may first have exchanged words. Police believe the two men knew each other.
