Sean Spicer, who we’ve just received confirmation is in fact not Melissa McCarthy in a suit, has decided to attack the Anne Frank Centre for its comments over Trump’s disavowal of anti-Semitism.
After strings of anti-Semitic behaviours in the US, including reports of 48 bomb threats made to Jewish centres and perpetrators vandalising the gravesites of at least 170 Jews in St Louis, Trump gave in to public pressure and finally acknowledged the anti-Semitism that had exploded across the US since his election.
“… I think it’s terrible, I think it’s horrible, whether it’s anti-Semitism or racism or anything you want to think about…”
But his comments were too little, too late for the Anne Frank Centre, who described the comments as “a Band-Aid on the cancer of Anti-Semitism that has infected his own Administration.”
And Sean Spicer was not happy, not one little bit.
“The president has made clear since the day he was elected, and frankly going back to the campaign, that he is someone who seeks to unite this country,” Spicer ~~joked~~ actually truly said. “He brings a diverse group of folks into his administration, both in terms of actual positions and people who he sought the advice of.”
“And it’s something he’s going to continue to fight and make very, very clear that he has no place in this administration.”
Worth noting he probably mean anti-Semitism has no place in this administration, but Spicer did say “he” – straight from the horse’s mouth, as they say.
“But it’s ironic that no matter how many times he talks about this, it’s never good enough.”
The President came under fire for omitting the Jewish people in his statement on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, which does seem like quite a crucial element to brush over.
Trump’s daughter Ivanka, who converted to Judaism to marry her husband Jared Kushner, tweeted to ask American people show “tolerance”.
Another day, another Trump story.
