School canteen held up at knife point

They have been remanded in custody

Two 13-year-old boys that allegedly held-up a primary school canteen with a knife have been charged with attempted aggravated armed robbery.

Police told the The Kalgoorlie Children’s Court that the boys went to the South Kalgoorlie Primary School canteen on Wednesday and stole a 40cm knife. They then used the knife to threaten a woman working in the canteen.

Sergeant Nick Coombes told the ABC that the boys attend a nearby high school.

He said the offenders were unsuccessful in stealing any money, but left with the knife.

The boys have been remanded in custody and are expected to appear in court again later this month
