Olympic gold medalist Sally Pearson has been named the most inspirational Australian athlete this year.
The 28-year-old hurdler claimed her second ‘The Don’ award at the 30th Sports Australia Hall of Fame in Melbourne on Thursday night.
The award was named in honour of the inaugural inductee and cricketer Sir Donald Bradman.
Sally beat out an impressive list of sports stars including Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo, tennis player Nick Kyrgios and bowler Mitchell Johnson.
It is the second time Sally has won the award. She first won it in 2012 after claiming gold at the London Olympics.
She becomes the first female athlete and only second athlete to win ‘The Don’ twice.
Pole vaulter Steve Hooker took out the title in 2008 and 2009.
