Russian women “catfish” ISIS members for cash

Three women from the Russian province of Chechnya have pulled off a dramatic scam on ISIS.

For the first time in a long time, people around the world are celebrating someone for committing a crime.

And, to be completely honest, we might be, too.

Two women, from Russian republic of Chechnya, are under investigation for fraud after they “catfished” ISIS members into sending them money.

The two women were allegedly contacted by ISIS members looking to recruit new wives and women into the ISIS cause, but instead of joining or rejecting, the women decided to do something a little bit different.

The two ladies played along, pretending that they were interested in joining the cause and sending fake pictures to keep their act up. When the ISIS members asked them to journey to Syria to become wives, the women insisted that they needed money to make the trip.

And money they got.

The ISIS members wired over $3,000 to the women for their travel expenses, after which they severed all communication, locked their bank accounts and disappeared off the grid.

Unfortunately for these high-rolling girls, they were discovered shortly after.

They are currently being investigated for financial fraud.

“I don’t recall any precedent like this one in Chechnya, probably because nobody digs deep enough in that direction,” police officer Valery Zolotaryov told a local Chechen newspaper. “Anyhow, I don’t advise anyone to communicate with dangerous criminals, especially for grabbing quick money.”

We don’t either, but you’ve got to admit: they’ve got pluck.
