Harris, 84, was handed the sentence by Justice Nigel Sweeney at Southwark Crown Court in London today.
The convicted paedophile was found guilty of 12 charges of indecent assault earlier this week.
He faced a maximum of 24 years behind bars, with each count carrying a maximum penalty of two years in jail.
But Britain’s attorney-general has been asked to determine whether the prison sentence given to Harris is too lenient.
