A shocking case of road rage in Perth, Western Australia, has left a father with multiple fractures to his skull and bleeding on the brain. Police currently suspect it was all because the 49-year-old was driving 5kms under the speed limit.
The attack occurred on Swan Road in Caversham after Rodney had dropped his daughter off at school. A car which had been driving behind him proceeded to overtake his car, throw a carton of milk at his windscreen, then motion for Rodney to pull over.
The 49-year-old told 9 News that, confused, he pulled over to find out what was going on.
Like something out of a nightmare, the driver of the other car pulled out a wrench and rushed at Rodney, “thumping [him] in the back of the head”.
“He’s just gone around and started thumping me in the back of the head, so I must’ve had five, six, seven blows of a metal bar, right at the back of my head,” he told 9 News.
“I’ve dropped to the ground and he’s just gone to town.”
While Rodney did his best to defend himself, his life was likely saved by two men at a nearby shop who witnessed the attack and came running to help the Perth Dad.
Rodney is currently recovering in Royal Perth Hospital, he is awaiting brain scans and will soon find out if he will require surgery.
