Rhonda Pasek: ‘Heroin grandma’ gets sentenced to 180 days jail

A grandmother photographed with her boyfriend slumped in a car after overdosing on heroin as her grandson sat in the backseat has been sentenced to 180 days in jail.

Rhonda Pasek, the grandmother pictured in the Ohio overdose photo with her four-year-old grandson in the back of her car has been sentenced to 180 days in jail.

The 50-year-old appeared at East Liverpool Municipal Court in Ohio on Thursday, where she pleaded no contest to child endangering, disorderly conduct, public intoxication and a seat belt violation.

This photo was taken by East Liverpool Police Department of Pasek and 47-year-old James Acord and went viral last week after being posted on Facebook.

Police say they distributed the now infamous photo to show the plague of “the poison known as heroin” in the community.

Pasek is the boy’s paternal grandmother and had reportedly had legal custody of the child for six weeks before her arrest.

A Juvenile Court judge has since granted custody of the boy to relatives in South Carolina.
