Queensland police make grim discovery of bodies in a metal box

Queensland police confirm bodies of two people found inside metal box pulled from Logan dam.

Police searching for missing pair Cory Breton and Luliana Triscaru have discovered two inside a large metal box in a Logan Dam.

At midday today Detective Superintendent Dave Hutchinson told a press conference that investigators believed the missing pair’s bodies were in the box found in a Kingston dam during police searches.

Police have now confirmed that the box contained two bodies, although they have not yet been formally identified.

“We’ve had detectives now working on this investigation… basically around the clock for the last 48 hours, and now, as a consequence, last night and in the early hours of this morning… a total of six people, being five males and one female, were arrested for the murder of Cory Breton and Iuliana Triscaru,

“We have police this morning down in the vacant land and the area around Mudgee Street at Kingston and we have located just after 8am this morning, a large metal box submerged in one of the dams,” he said.

Hutchinson also told the press conference that police believe the box was transported in a 1999 model dark green Toyota Hilux ute on the evening of January 24.

Investigators allege that two bright yellow ratchet straps were disposed of at Third Avenue, Marsden, on the morning of January 25.

Police will argue that the straps were used to secure the box to the ute, and Det. Hutchinson appealed for anyone who found them on the road to give them to police.

Five men and one woman were charged with two counts of murder in relation to the case last night, and did not apply for bail when they faced court this morning.
