QLD triple shooting: Two women declared dead

Preliminary inquiries indicate it was a domestic-related incident.

Two women, aged 50 and 68, are dead and a man is fighting for his life after a triple shooting in Hervey Bay, Queensland.

Police found one woman dead at the scene and another was rushed to hospital with critical injuries. A man was also taken to hospital with critical injuries.

Police have since confirmed that the second woman had died.

Police say they are not looking for any suspects in a triple shooting in Hervey Bay. A gun was seized at the scene.

Preliminary inquiries indicate the incident was domestic-related with no one else believed to be involved.

The Brisbane Times reports that Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has sent her condolences to the Hervey Bay community.

The shooting has happened as Ms Palaszczuk tabled her government’s latest plan to deal with domestic and family violence.

“On behalf of Queensland, I send my condolences to the Hervey Bay community and I believe that all honourable members would agree with me that this senseless violence has to stop,” she said.
