A puppy’s collar is believed to have been the cause of a house explosion that decimated a home in Gulfport, Mississippi.
The fire department believe the pup was sniffing around an unused gas valve when his collar caught on a lever.
It is thought the pooch probably tugged at the lever to get free and unwittingly opened the gas valve, allowing the fuel to escape.
The gas travelled through the home before filling the attic and when the furnace or water heater clicked on it ignited the fuel.
The occupants of the home were out at the time, and although a hole was blown out of the side of the house the fire department were able to rescue all four of the canines inside.
