At a #Back2School Anti-bullying event run by The Diana Awards, Prince William revealed he would confide in his family if he was being bullied.
When the group of school children and the Prince were prompted to write the names of the five people considered to be their support network on a giant hand, William wrote Catherine, Harry, father – Prince Charles, grandmother – The Queen, and grandfather – Prince Philip.
He also snuck in a sixth name which was his pet Spaniel, Lupo.
The award scheme began as an ambassador program, training children, staff and parents to help combat issues in their communities, according to Daily Mail.
The scheme aims to educate young people that they need not suffer bullying in silence.
The session William attended at the Hammersmith Academy in West London was focusing on cyber bullying and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transexual bullying.
Prince William told the teens that while he would seek to comfort the person being bullied, he was also the type of person who would confront a bully head on.
Tessy Ojo, chief executive of the Diana Awards feels it is great to see someone of that stature speaking up against homophobioa, biphobia and transphobia, and compared the Prince to his mother.
‘Princess Diana was never a bystander. She didn’t see a problem and just leave it. She did something about it. It’s about why the Diana Award believes in the ethos of getting young people to change their world.’
