Michael Jackson’s son Prince has acknowledged and dismissed rumours that the superstar was not his biological father.

Prince, Michael’s first child, with ex-wife Debbie Rowe in 1997, has always lived under the swirling speculation since Michael’s death in 2009. The 18-year-old finally addressed the rumours after being blasted by a twitter user, claiming that Debbie’s former boss, dermatologist Dr. Arnold Klein, was his real dad.

“everyone knows you are a Rowe-Klein NOT A Jackson!!”, the Twitter troll wrote. “Yall (sic) should stop trying to put on a FAKE front and get real.”

With one tweet, Prince accepted the possibility and dismissed it as irrelevant all within 140 characters.

“The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb…,” he tweets. “I was raised by my dad with my brother and sister.”

In 2013 Arnold Klein claimed that he fathered Prince by comparing an old driver’s licence photo of himself with an image of the teen, and though the scientific merit of that kind of evidence is dubious at best, it helped fuel rumours and needlessly keep alive the question of paternity barely 3 years after Prince lost the only father he’d ever known.

Prince and his siblings are currently being raised by the cousin, TJ Jackson, and their grandmother, Katherine.

TJ recently confessed that he felt it was is duty to take of the children after Michael’s death, saying that it was his way to repay his famous uncle for doing so much for his family when TJ was only a boy.

“Being guardian to my uncle Michael’s kids takes a lot of time, and it’s something that I put a lot of effort into and take a lot of pride in,” TJ told Entertainment Tonight. “For me, I just want to do well for my uncle, and he was such an important person for me when I lost my mother as a 16 year old that I’m just trying to repay him.”
