Victorian Police have made an unprecedented plea to the Australian public, begging for help identifying a mystery girl.
They say they don’t know who the girl is, but they have grave concerns about her welfare and believe she is in imminent danger.
She is a Caucasian girl, believed to be between four and six years old. She has shoulder-length brown hair and police have been searching for her for 12 months already.
The blurry images police – believed to be video stills – have released to help find her show her inside what appears to be an Australian apartment. There is a live game of AFL playing on a TV behind her, leading detectives to believe the photos were taken on May 24 last year.
“Other factors known to police are that the girl appears to be in an apartment or similar which is well furnished, with modern, large windows and is possibly overlooking a city skyline or other tall structures,” police said in a statement on Tuesday.
