NT police this morning arrested Brett Mahoney, 31, who, after being questioned on a firearms charge, fled with his seven children in tow.

The children, who are Mahoney’s biological children, were aged between eight months and 11 years and reportedly went willingly with their father.

Mahoney led NT police on a two day man hunt after he failed to surrender on gun charges.

It is reported that Mahoney was engaged in a dispute with a neighbour where two guns were produced, after which the police issued a warrant for his arrest and he fled.

The police were able to locate Mr Mahoney in a house in the suburb of Moulden.

Fortunately, all seven children were unharmed.
