NT police this morning arrested Brett Mahoney, 31, who, after being questioned on a firearms charge, fled with his seven children in tow.

The children, who are Mahoneyโ€™s biological children, were aged between eight months and 11 years and reportedly went willingly with their father.

Mahoney led NT police on a two day man hunt after he failed to surrender on gun charges.

It is reported that Mahoney was engaged in a dispute with a neighbour where two guns were produced, after which the police issued a warrant for his arrest and he fled.
