Staff and guests were forced to run from two “out of control” pensioners as they rampaged through an Scottish hotel, a court has heard.
Robert Fergus, 72, ran naked through the public reception of MacDonald Loch Rannoch Hotel yielding scissors and smashed a glass pane.
Meanwhile, his 69-year-old wife Ruth threatened to shoot a staff member.

The couple blamed “badly reacting” to alcohol they consumed earlier and paid £4,100 at Perth Sheriff Court, as well as an additional £800 to the hotel to cover the cost of damages.
The court heard Mr Fergus used the scissors to cut communication cables at the reception and, after threatening guests and staff with violence, he was eventually caught drunk behind the wheel of his BMW.
The rampage started at 1:45am when a guest was woken by banging on his door and saw Mr Fergus in the hallway, according to Fiscal Deputy Michael Sweeney.
“He was observed to have a pair of scissors,” Mr Sweeney said.
“Mrs Fergus said: ‘I’m going to get a gun and shoot you,’ at [staff member] Miss Titkova.”
“On seeing the scissors, Miss Titkova shouted at the other staff and guests to run.
“They saw Mr Fergus pick up a sign and smash a glass pane in the door with it.”
Mr Fergus then ran through the foyer telling witnesses he would “slit” and “kill” them.
The whole incident allegedly kicked off after a drunk Mr Fergus was roused from his bed by his wife who said she’d been victim to hostility from hotel staff.
“He reacted disproportionately by going to reception to confront them,” said his solicitor Ewan Cameron.
