Four-year-old Thyreese Alaniz-Rowsell tragically lost his life in a house fire last week. The fire also took the life of his 69-year-old, Hugo Alaniz.
While the family is understandably devastated by the loss, Thyreese’s uncle spoke to 9 News and revealed something positive had come from the tragedy.
Thyreese’s organs were donated after his death and have reportedly helped to save the lives of four people.
“His organs went to help someone make a better life for themselves,” Mr Alaniz told 9 News.
“That’s something positive we can take out of this tragedy.”
The family lost everything following the fire that took their Thornlie, Perth, home. The house was reportedly uninsured and almost all belongings were destroyed.
The home belonged to Thyreese’s great-grandmother, Edith Alaniz, now a widower having also lost her husband Hugo in the blaze.
A Go-Fund me campaign has been created to help raise funds for the family, who are still paying off the mortgage on their now destroyed home.
“Anything you can give to help the Alaniz family cover costs for a double funeral and for Edith get back on track would be greatly appreciated,” the page reads.
The family only need $5,000 more to help reach their $20,000 goal.
