1.As the nation wakes up to a new leader in Malcolm Turnbull who ousted Tony Abbott from the top job last night, social media responded to the news in the only way it knows how – with a bunch of excellent memes.

2.Mel Gibson’s reps deny his much younger girlfriend is expecting.
Representatives of Hollywood heavyweight, Mel Gibson, 59, deny rumours that he and his much younger girlfriend, Rosalind Ross, 24, are expecting a child.
“Rosey suddenly gave up drinking about a month ago,” tells a source according to Daily Mail.
“And while she won’t admit she’s pregnant, she’s not denying it either.”
Mel already has seven children to his ex-wife Robyn, whom he was with for 26 years, and another child, Lucia, that he had with Russian pianist Oksana Grogorieva in 2006.
Mel and Rosalind are currently in Sydney ahead of the filming of Mel’s new film, Hacksaw Ridge.
3.Elderly couple dead in bath found to be tragic accident.
When Yun Kau Ng, 71, and his wife, Chiu Ngor Ng, 74, were discovered dead in the bath of their hotel suite the police found the circumstances suspicious.
The couple were found drowned in the tub of their Deco City Motor Lodge in Napier, NZ, in October 2013 after an evening out with friends.
An autopsy of the pair has revealed it’s likely that Yun, or Louis as he was known, suffered a heart attack and trapped his frail wife underneath him in the bath according to stuff.co.nz.
Mrs Ng, known as Elaine, was known to suffer both heart disease and dementia, and it is thought that she was not strong enough to move her husband off her when he collapsed.
The pair were found by their son when he went to check on them.
4.Schapelle Corby has shut down pregnancy talk, with News.com.au reporting she addressed the “persistent rumours” she was carrying a child in her monthly report-in to her parole officer.
Corby spent 10 minutes in the meeting with her parole officer Putu Andiyani, News Limited reports she said she has not reunited with her former boyfriend Ben Panangian – who was recently released from jail – and claimed to have put on weight since her release.
“No, I am not. How could I be pregnant? I don’t have a boyfriend,” Corby reportedly said.
Corby was reportedly advised to stay away from friends who could potentially get her involved with drugs.
