1.The washed up debris found on Reunion Island has now been confirmed as parts of missing flight MH370.
Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak confirmed the Boeing 777 wing segment that was found on the small island in the Indian Ocean was from the flight which was carrying 239 people when it disappeared in March last year.
“Today, 515 days since the plane disappeared, it is with a heavy heart that I must tell you that an international team of experts have conclusively confirmed that the aircraft debris found on Reunion Island is indeed from MH370,” said Mr Razak in a broadcast statement.
Six Australians were on board the flight when it disappeared, travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
Malaysia declared all 239 people as presumed dead in January to help their families gain assistance and compensation.
Nine News reports the family of victims were all notified of the developments by a text message.
2.Remember the Subway guy? The one holding up those giant pants?
Well that guy, Jared Fogle, who has been accused of not only encouraging a Subway franchisee to advertise herself on Craigslist for sex, but of admitting he paid a 16-year-old girl for sex, for a mere $100.
These allegations are apparently proved in text messages between Fogle and the Subway franchisee who were reportedly in a relationship at the time.
And while Subway allegedly did nothing at the time, the sandwich giant have responded to the allegations on their Facebook page, writing:
“About the most recent news story on Jared Fogle, this allegation, if true, is appalling and is contrary to the values of our brand. As previously stated, we have suspended our relationship with Jared.”
The post has received almost 3,000 likes and over 600 shares, while some users have decided to comment on the post with their preferred subs styles.
The FBI have subpoenaed an affidavit containing the text message trail.
3.Kristen Stewart and Blake Lively have now joined the list of young actresses starring in a Woody Allen film.
And the allegations he sexually assaulted his step daughter at the time, Dylan Farrow, haven’t seemed to turn them running in the other direction.
They’ll be joining a cast of stars including Bruce Willis, Jesse Eisenberg, Parker Posey and Jeannie Berlin, reports Jezebel.
Will Stewart or Lively’s characters will end up in some extramarital affair with an older guy? Probably.
4.Another gunman has attacked moviegoers in the United States, this time during a screening of Mad Max: Fury Road.
The 51-year-old gunman was wearing a surgical mask, carrying a backpack, gun, pepper spray and a hatchet when he raided the Tennessee cinema.
Three people were injured and one was struck by the hatchet.
One officer who rushed to the scene immediately – before the SWAT team arrived – is being hailed a hero.
The gunman was killed on the scene after first opening fire on the lone policeman.
Suspicious content was found in the backpack which is being safely detonated by the bombsquad, a Nashville police spokesman has told reporters.
Earlier this week Amy Schumer called for stricter gun control laws after a gunman opened fire at a Louisiana cinema screening her movie, Trainwreck, killing two young women.
She joined her cousin and New York Senator Chuck Schumer at a press conference to take a stand.
