The 20-year-old woman drowned at a beach in Dubai, reports Emirates 247, after her father intercepted rescuers who were strangers he did not want touching – and dishonouring – his daughter.

“This is one of the incidents which I cannot forget, it shocked me,” Lt Colonel Burqibah told Emirates 24/7.

“Two rescue men were at the beach, and they rushed to help the girl. However, there was one obstacle which prevented them from reaching the girl and helping her.

“This obstacle was the belief of this Asian man who considered that if these men touched his daughter, then this would dishonour her. It cost him the life of his daughter.”

4.Studio 10 host Jessica Rowe has lashed out at her ex-boss Eddie McGuire during an on-air panel discussion, saying he “made my life hell”

Rowe brought up the subject during a discussion about whether or not McGuire had inappropriately referred to the Victorian Sports Minister John Eren as a “soccer loving Turkish born Mussie”.

She said McGuire was no stranger to offensive comments, referring to reports in 2006 that he told staff at the Nine network he wanted to “bone” her from the TODAY show.

“To me, Eddie McGuire has form and I can talk very much from personal experience,” the 45-year-old said.

“The way he has allegedly used language against me in the past and the way he has used language to describe Adam Goodes (is) highly, highly inappropriate and then to try and explain it away as ‘oh that was a brain snap or a brain freeze’ — no that is not on.

“If he (McGuire) is not smart enough — and I don’t think he is — to moderate his language depending on the sort of forum he is in, he has to take the flak for it.

“I’m sorry. I don’t have a lot of good to say about that man because he made my life hell.”
