Newborn baby abandoned on doorstep in NSW

He was found in a pink cloth bassinet

A baby boy has been abandoned on the doorstep of a home in Griffith, NSW.

Police said the baby was found outside a home on Braeburn Street in a pink cloth bassinet after the doorbell was rung just before midnight, ABC news reports.

Police believe the mother is a teenager and have appealed for her to come forward. They have also said the baby appears to be healthy and uninjured.

He’s of Caucasian appearance and was possibly born on Friday morning.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Griffith Police via Crime Stoppers.
