Tennessee, US, mum Lisa Marie Palmer, 32, was slowly driving her gold Cadillac 50M ahead of her kids as they walked with their dog in cold weather.

According to Chattanooga Times Free Press, Mrs Palmer was charged when authorities found her and the children โ€“ who are both aged under 10 โ€“ almost halfway to school.

She said she made them walk as punishment for missing the bus.

Police officer Chris Gadd said: โ€œTemperatures were cold, and traffic was beginning to become heavy with citizens heading to work. Mrs Palmer was in no position to reach her children safely in the event of an emergency.โ€

She has also been accused of driving without a licence and will appear in court on April 18.
