The family of 20-year-old Ballantyne Forder, from Perth are desperate for any information of her whearabouts.
Ballantyne was working in an orphanage in Nepal when a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit on Saturday.
She is among five Australians listed as missing after the earthquake struck Nepal and north India, killing more than 1,300 people and triggering a fatal avalanche on Mount Everest.
The other Australians missing, according to the Red Cross website, are Zachary Sheridan, 20 of Adelaide, a 59-year-old woman and 18-year-old man from Melbourne and a 43-year-old man.
Zachary is the younger brother of Packed to The Rafters actor, Hugh Sheridan.
Ballantyne’s sister, Amanda-Sue Markham, has been using social media to ask for assistance to find her “Billie.”
“#auspol Please find my baby sister missing in Kathmandu,” she wrote this morning.
“Billie travelled a long way to take care of those children. My guess is she has stayed with them.”
Around 700 Australians registered with DFAT as travelling in Nepal.
