A Melbourne mother has unspeakably pleaded guilty to murdering three of her children and attempting to kill a fourth when she drove into a Wyndham Vale lake in 2015.
Akon Guode, 37, made her guilty plea in the Victoria Supreme Court, admitting to murdering her one-year-old son Bol and four-year-old twins, Hanger and Madit, and attempting to murder her five-year-old daughter Alual.
The ABC reports she showed little emotion, speaking only the word “Guilty”.
In July 2016, police released a statement that alleged Guode had spoken about killing herself and her children, perhaps due to the fact she owed huge debts.
The court was told Guode had sent almost $100,000 to family in South Sudan.
Guode came to Australia from South Sudan in 2008 to escape war after her first husband died.
More as we get it.
