Man who rammed ex-girlfriend’s house with BMW dies in hospital

A Brisbane man who rammed his ex-lover’s house with his BMW in a domestic violence incident has died from his injuries in hospital.

Neil de Graaf, 37 is alleged to have slammed his car into the Brookwater home of his 23-year-old ex-partner April Lane on Monday night before the dousing the home in petrol and setting it alight, according to The Courier Mail.

Lane, her 48-year-old mother, two 18-year-olds and the family dog managed to escape the blaze but de Graff suffered burns to 95 percent of his body.

Queensland Police’s Heath McQueen told reporters the family were lucky and “have only suffered minor injuries”.

“We’re very fortunate that we’re not standing here with a much worse situation… there could have been multiple persons deceased as a result of the incident last night.”
