An intruder in Perth’s Scarborough got the fright of his life when he was caught robbing the house of Logan Burke, a 6’4 Maori, and four of his rugby-playing, tradie housemates.
Burke awoke at 2am to find the alleged thief ransacking his apartment, who he claims was already wearing his watch and hat, so he “grabbed him” and pushed him up against the wall. Despite Burke’s imposing stature, the robber thought he’d have a go at overpowering him and started throwing punches, which only resulted in the man having an asthma attack.
So Burke, being the gentle giant he clearly is, took him into the kitchen, sat him down, washed his face down and kindly offered him a glass of water. He then made sure he was okay.
None of the housemates will face assault charges as they used reasonable force to detain the man until Police arrived.
The intruder was treated in hospital and is currently behind bars, charged with burglary and assault as well as two counts of breaching bail. We’re certain this is one failed break-in he’ll never forget!
